Artisan Eyelashes is a boutique eyelash extensions studio at 391 Sutter Street, one block from Union Square in downtown San Francisco. Since 2006, our Xtreme Lashes certified eyelash extensions specialists have crafted custom eyelash extensions, from natural Faux Mink and classic sets to Blend, X-Wrap and fluffy hybrid volume lashes.
Every appointment begins with a thorough consultation. We map length, curl and thickness to your eye shape and lifestyle, then apply each extension by hand with care for the health of your natural lashes. Aftercare
Keeping your lift
Your artist will walk you through aftercare at your appointment. In general:
Keep lashes and brows dry for the first 48 hours: no washing, steam, saunas, swimming or sweaty workouts.
Skip mascara and brow products for the first day, and avoid rubbing your eyes.
After that, brush lashes and brows into place each morning. A nourishing serum helps keep them soft.
Lash lift FAQ
What is a Yumi lash lift?+
A keratin treatment that lifts, curls and nourishes your natural lashes from the root. Lashes are set over soft, curved silicone pads rather than a tight rod, so the curl is gradual and lashes look longer instead of crimped. A lash tint is included to darken and define them.
How long does the appointment take?+
Plan for about an hour to an hour and a half, including your lash tint. Most clients simply relax with their eyes closed.
How long will my lift last?+
Typically 6–8 weeks. It follows your natural lash cycle, so the exact time varies from person to person. Around weeks 3–4 you may start to notice new, straighter lashes growing in among the lifted ones.
How often can I have it done?+
We recommend waiting about 8 weeks between full lifts. That gives older lifted lashes time to shed so the new lift works on fresh, healthy lashes.
Does it hurt? Is it safe for my lashes?+
It is painless. The Yumi formula is made in France, hypoallergenic, vegan and cruelty-free, and free of parabens and formaldehyde, with keratin to condition the lashes. Please tell us beforehand about eye infections, conjunctivitis, very dry eyes or recent eye surgery, and check with your doctor if you are pregnant or nursing.
Will it work on short or straight lashes?+
Yes. As long as you have lashes, they can be lifted. It is especially flattering on lashes that grow straight out or point downward.
Can I wear mascara afterward?+
Yes, once the first 48 hours have passed. Many clients find they no longer need it. Skip waterproof mascara and the eyelash curler; neither is needed and both can shorten the life of your lift.
How should I prepare?+
Arrive with clean lashes and no eye makeup, and wear glasses instead of contact lenses if you can. Avoid oil-based eye products the day before. If you are wearing extensions, they need to come off first; we can remove them for you (eyelash extension removal, $80).
Why might a lift drop early?+
Getting lashes wet or steamy in the first day or two, sleeping face-down, oily skincare around the eyes and mascara residue can all weaken the result. Let us know if your lift doesn’t hold as expected.
Will the tint show on my lashes?+
Tint makes the biggest difference on blonde, brown or light-tipped lashes. If your lashes are already very dark, the change will be subtle.
Brow lamination FAQ
What is brow lamination?+
Think of it as a blowout for your brows. The hairs are gently softened, brushed into your ideal shape and set in place, then finished with a nourishing keratin treatment for a fuller, brushed-up look.
Who is it best for?+
Unruly, curly or downward-growing brows, and brows that look sparse or uneven. You need at least some natural brow hair for the best result. It can also be done over microbladed brows.
How long does the appointment take?+
About 45 minutes, and you will see the result straight away.
How long does it last?+
Usually 4–6 weeks, depending on your brow growth and how closely you follow aftercare.
Does it hurt?+
No. You may feel a slight tingle from the solution. Some mild redness can appear on sensitive skin and usually fades within about an hour.
Will my brows feel stiff?+
They may look very straight-up for the first day. After 24 hours they soften, and you can brush them slightly sideways for a softer finish.
How do I care for laminated brows?+
Keep them dry for the first 48 hours: no water, steam, sweaty workouts or oil-based products. Pause retinol and exfoliating acids around the brows for a few days, and brush them into place each morning.
Can I add a tint or shaping?+
Yes. Add a Brow Tint ($35) for more definition, or a Brow Wax ($30) to tidy the shape.

Online booking, payments and gift card purchases are handled by Mindbody, our secure booking provider, and are not stored on this website. Their use of your information is covered by Mindbody’s own privacy policy.

Find us one block north of Union Square at 391 Sutter Street, Suite 316, San Francisco, CA 94108, between Stockton Street and Grant Avenue. Take the elevator to the third floor; Suite 316 is our studio.
BART
Powell Street station is about an 8-minute walk. Exit toward Powell & Market, walk north on Stockton Street past Union Square, then turn right on Sutter.
Muni Metro
The Central Subway T line stops at Union Square/Market Street station. Use the Union Square exit at Stockton and Geary — about a 3-minute walk north to Sutter.
Muni bus & cable car
The 2 Sutter runs along Sutter Street, and the 30 Stockton and 45 Union/Stockton stop at Stockton and Sutter. The Powell cable car lines stop at Powell and Sutter, two blocks west.
Parking
The Stockton-Sutter Garage at 444 Stockton Street is directly across the street. The Union Square Garage at 333 Post Street is a short walk away.
Please allow time to park and walk over, especially during downtown events. Parking is independently operated; we do not offer validation or private parking spaces. Check garage hours and rates before your visit.
For rideshare, use 391 Sutter Street as your destination and ask your driver to stop where permitted. If you need arrival assistance or would like to discuss access needs, contact us before your visit.
